Often found in the homes of royalty, Bavarian porcelain is considered one of the world's cherished legacies. Noted for its highly decorative design, this graceful bell stands as an exceptionally lovely example of Bavarian china from the Scherzer Porcelain Company.
The creamy whiteness of the fluted bell is accented with a trim of 22kt gold and by the rich, deep blue of the artfully created winter wonderland. The Charming, old-fashioned scene depicts snow covered evergreens framing a rural church, deer contentedly grazing, and a spirited team of horses pulling snugly bundled passengers through the frosty air.
Founded in 1880 as "The Zeh, Scherzer Porcelain Company," by Mr. H. Zeh and Mr. F. Scherzer, the company has used the name "Scherzer" in its hallmark since the beginning of the 20th. century.
